Pomarine Jaeger (Stercorarius pomarinus)
(a.k.a. "Herkimer")

Osterville, Massachusetts - 19 & 20 May 2004

This adult Pomarine Jaeger was present at Dowse's Beach from at least 16 May 2004.  It was very approachable, but active and appeared to be healthy, so why it hung around this area is a mystery. These images were digiscoped by Blair Nikula with a Nikon Coolpix 995 through a Leica Televid APO77 w/20-60X eyepiece.
